«GRABLI” VS. “MAKS — 2015”
OPENING OF NEW ENGINEERING AND GASTRONOMIC PROJECT.
On August, 24, 2015 in Central Children’s Store in Lubyanka a new concept project already known to city gourmands of ”Grabli” restaurant network and encourage by young members of the aviation and space salon “MAKS”.
A new site located on two levels of the famous house just in the middle of Moscow incorporates the experimental idea of Art&Food space in one and the same place. The last event demonstrated that the new “Grabli” restaurant is not only a splendid gastronomic experience, but also a fascinating pastime like a travel to an unknown world- world of inventors and their mysterious machines, adventure seekers, aeronauts and their amazing fantasy. Full immerse into the experimental atmosphere was achieved thanks to the restaurant interior concept with decor in steampunk style created by the owner and mastermind of the project “Grabli” Roman Rozhnikovskiy and the architectress and innovator Alena Tabakova.
The decor topic is not random: For many years “Garbly” have been supporting the International Festival of Children and Youth Scientific-Technical Creativity “Off We go!” which holds within the framework of the aviation and space salon “MAKS”. That is communication with young scientists from 50 regions of Russia, Czech Republic, Brazil, India, China and Republic of South Africa, graduates of the best universities of our country — Lomonosov Moscow State University, Moscow Aviation Institute, Kazan Aviation Institute and Moscow State Technical University named after Bauman and authors of the Russian- Ukraine- Canadian development inspired the founder of the restaurant network to create a new engineering and gastronomic project with its own aeronautics park. Intricate vintage mechanisms and a real air-balloon flying between two floors of the restaurant, a big airship and original mock-up aircrafts, modern fantasy pictures, much unnatural exotic greenery, bright mosaic and glass decor turned the classic restaurant atmosphere into a real show space, and for the visitors it was a bright event full of new impressions.
The opening ceremony of the restaurant was in non-stop mode of the creative shop. Dozens of photographers — experimenters each with its own unique style of photography, professional make-up artists, watercolor artists from British School of Design and other creative artists built the exciting atmosphere of continuous creative process where everybody found his image and looked at himself from a new point of view. An individual routing developed for each guest made it possible to feel all beauty of the engineering and gastronomic idea of the new art space.
Beside popular journalists, blogger and friends of the project yesterday among special guests there was the legendary Russian airship pilot, President of Aerostatics Federation of Russia, who made 8 world records — Leonid Borisovich Tuhtyaev.
Shortly before XII International Aviation and Space Salon “MAKS-2015”, in the Central Children’s Store there was the ceremony of the new experimental site ART&FOOD opening. A week later these young engineers took place in the ceremony of closing of International Festival of Children and Youth Scientific-Technical Creativity “Off We Go” in State Duma of the Russian Federation. President Putin noted that 2016 can be announced as “Engineering Year in Russia”.
Gastronomic symbol of the event was a special gingerbread which has the shape of an air ballon and the taste of childhood
