CHINESE NEW YEAR

It’s been a long time since Chinese astrology came into our life. Every year is associated with its element and zodiac animal sign. This year the first day of the Chinese New Year falls on 8 February and will be the Year of the Red Monkey. It is considered to be the most ancient festival as it has been celebrating for more than 2,000 years. In China it is a long-desired holiday after year’s hard work, studies and troubles It is celebrated the whole month including dragons’ dances, tasty dishes and unbridled common joy.

It is traditional for every family to thoroughly cleanse the house, in order to sweep away any ill-fortune and to make way for good incoming luck. All the family gathers together for festive dinner consisting of various dishes (the most common ones are pork, duck and chicken dishes and a wide variety of sweet things). This festive night ends with fireworks. Traditionally the celebration of the Chinese New Year is considered to be the best time to make up a quarrel, the time to get all offences out of mind and sincerely wish anyone peace and happiness.

Try chicken salad with white reddish in soy and ginger sauce, hand-made pork dumplings fried in Chinese style, “sweet” pork ribs in ginger and honey sauce, Chinese style chicken wings and a great variety of other delish dishes. Our own-made sweet things need no special introductions.

The Chinese celebrate their New Year the whole month. We think that it is great because you can indulge yourself and have various dishes of the Chinese cuisine in our restaurants during the whole month.

A romantic story about a poor lad and a beautiful girl from the palace with a great number of fairy characters and a peck of adventures. This is a play of string puppets with talking DRAGON doll.
